Beechfield Children’s Respite Care ‘Play Haven’ Project has won the Big Lottery People’s Millions Fund

Beechfield Children’s Respite Care ‘Play Haven Project’ has won the Big Lottery People’s Millions fund on Wednesday 26th November and have been awarded over £26,000 to create a play and garden area at the Beechfield Children Respite Care Unit.  The ‘Play Haven Project’ secured 6139 public votes on the voting day. Beechfield Children’s Respite Unit provides short breaks/respite care for children with severe learning disabilities, physical disabilities and or complex health needs within the County Down area.

Beechfield’s ‘Play Haven Project’ will create a safe and accessible garden and play area where children, young people and families with learning disability, physical disability and or complex health needs can undertake social and recreational activities. The project will improve the children and young people’s quality of life, stimulate their senses and provide a place for participation and interaction.

Praxis Care are delighted to have won the People’s Millions Fund and the project will make such a big difference to the children at the Beechfield Children’s Respite Care Unit.
