Competition winner announced for Praxis Care renamed scheme

Following a recent consultation with service users at Woodbourne Day Service it was decided that the facility would be renamed with Praxis Care having taken over the running of the scheme from the Isle of Man Adult Learning Disability Service. Many options were considered but the favourite name chosen was ‘Balleysleih’ which means ‘Place of People’ in Manx.

To go with the new scheme service users wanted their own scheme logo. A competition was run in two local primary schools; Anagh Coar and Foxdale Primary. Praxis received many entries from both schools and it was a very difficult decision to choose between entries. However, the competition was won by Year 5 student, Ayse Kavak, from Anagh Coar School.

Ayse was presented with a voucher for a local shop by Julie Ormond, Assistant Director of Operations (IOM) in front of all her classmates.

Praxis Care would like to thank everyone who entered the competition.

The Balleysleih Day Service will be re-registered with the local regulatory authorities.
