Gardening Day in Bangor

Staff and Service Users Volunteer for Praxis Care

Despite the wind and rain of the few days previous Praxis Care staff and service users from the Bangor Residential Flat Cluster, in Carmen Lane, Bangor, spent Saturday 12th May volunteering to tidy up their garden and patio area for the benefit of all the staff and service users. The group set about weeding the driveway, patio area and walkway around the building and also tidied up the decking area and planted new flowers in the raised beds.

Team Leaders John McAuley and Linda Ferguson along with relief staff member Rachel Campbell all donated their time back to Praxis Care to improve the outside space of the Bangor Residential Flat Cluster. Along with service users from the scheme the group transformed the outside area back to its former glory just in time for the sunny weather of the last few weeks.

The Praxis Care Residential Flat Cluster in Bangor supports adults with Mental Ill Health. Improving the garden and patio area will make a significant difference to those connected to the scheme. Everyone involved felt a real sense of pride and achievement at the end of all of their hard work.

Praxis Care relies on the involvement of volunteers to enhance and support the work of Praxis Care staff. Volunteers can get involved by helping with activities and social groups, by befriending or by supporting the work through fundraising.
