Glastry College: Million Words raises a Thousand

Pupils from Glastry College took part in the Praxis Sponsored Read It during the month of October. Pupils raised a total of £1157.50 as well as reading over two million words in that time!
Included in the photo are the four top raisers who between them raised over £600! They are pictured with Mr Donald Bell from Praxis who presented them with their certificates. Praxis Care provides a range of supported living services to people experiencing mental ill health. Praxis Care also provides home response domiciliary care, and a day activity / drop-in and “out of hours” service that offers individuals with mental ill health and related complex needs help in the planning and management of their own social routines. A volunteer befriending scheme helps to reduce isolation and improves the well being of people with mental health difficulties.
The four pupils will also attend the Praxis Care Read IT Awards ceremony which will be taking place on Friday 30th January 2015 at the Odyssey Pavilion, Belfast. Afterwards they will attend the UK premier of the new cartoon film “Big Hero 6” featuring Marvel Comic Characters.
