Northern Ireland Mental Health Arts and Film Festival receives Lottery grant

The Northern Ireland Mental Health Arts and Film Festival have received a grant from Awards for All (Big Lottery) of £10,000 (maximum award) for their 2017 programme.

Paul Collins (Praxis Care – Assistant Director Communications and Treasurer of the Festival says :

“The award will allow the Festival to run an extensive programme in May 2017 including a family day, poetry night, art exhibition, play, short story readings and evening of short films.

The festival will enable Praxis Care service users to produce original pieces of art and have them shown to the general public.”

The festival partnership includes Praxis Care, QUB, Royal College of Psychiatrists, Aware, Mindfulness Belfast, NIAMH / Inspire, Arts Care, Cause, Belfast Film Festival, Breakthrough Retreats, Community Relations Forum, CRUN, Down District Council, Educational Shakespeare Company, Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, Linen Hall Library, Newcastle Community Cinema, The Peacefighters.com, Portrush Film Theatre, Reading Rooms, South Antrim Community Network, Together For You, Trusthouse Charitable Trust  and Verbal.
