Floating Support

Floating Support services are short term (less than two years), flexible services provided to individuals in their own homes. Floating Support services are linked to the individual and not the accommodation meaning that if an individual moves house the Floating Support can follow the individual as long as they remain in the service’s catchment area. Floating Support aims to maximise individual’s independence while supporting them to maintain their own home.

Praxis Care offers the following Floating Support services:

Lisnaskea Mental Ill Health
Lisnaskea Dementia

The Floating Support package provided will be tailored to meet each individual’s need and will vary in the number of support hours provided as an individual’s needs change.

Floating Support can provide advice and guidance on a range of practical issues some of which are listed below:

Support with mental ill health/ dementia/ addiction
Budgeting advice
Advice on benefits and accessing resources
Assistance with health & diet
Life skills guidance
Housing – accessing new housing; assistance with accessing maintenance services etc
Leisure
Education/Training/Employment
Relationships
Links with family and the local community
General counselling
Advocacy
