Tas

Tasmine got involved after meeting with the Volunteer Co-ordinator at the Volunteer Fair at Queens University Belfast in September 2011.

“ I have been volunteering with Praxis Care since January 2012.  I recently graduated from Queens after studying psychology so I’m very interested in mental health.  Volunteering with Praxis Care makes a difference to people affected by mental health so the few hours I give each week have an impact.

I volunteer each week for a few hours.  I help in the Fundraising Department by counting money that comes in from street collections and other events.  I’m also responsible for co-ordinating some of the static collection boxes in the local area.

What I do is quite a small role but it’s a great feeling that the money I count is being put to a good cause.  There are lots of other types of roles which you can volunteer at as well as fundraising, if you have spare time why not donate it to a good cause! “
