Thanks to the support of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation Trust, Friends of The Glenfield Project were able to enter a competition in our local paper, The Leicester Mercury, where small groups could win £1000 if the readers that week voted for them. We wrote a small article about the work of The Glenfield Project in providing short breaks for young people with disabilities and complex health care needs across Leicestershire and asked for £1000 to spend on computer games for our touch-screen computer and sensory equipment for our hydrotherapy area (bathroom). I am very pleased to announce that we won, largely thanks to our supporters on and through Facebook (look us up if you’re on there). The Leicester Mercury came and took some excellent photo’s and we gained a ¾ page article about the Glenfield Project and the work of Friends of The Glenfield Project, which is our first, but not our last article we hope. Thank you to all those who support us and voted for us.
