Health & Safety Officer

Full Time, Permanent

Lisburn Road, Belfast

Salary: £22,302 – £27,878 Per Annum


The Successful candidate will assist the Health & Safety Manager in delivering effective management and raising awareness of the organisation’s health & safety and fire safety functions across all four jurisdictions of Praxis Care. You will strive to ensure that Praxis Care meets its statutory obligations in respect of Health & Safety and Fire Safety, by developing and maintaining appropriate systems and processes and assisting the Health and Safety Manager in establishing and managing an effective corporate audit processes. A Key part of this role will include assisting the H&S Manager in the role of conducting Fire Risk Assessments on all Praxis Care owned & privately rented properties, and provide action plans in situations where improvements are required to safeguard service users/staff and to maintain compliance with the legislation.

Ideally you will hold NEBOSH Certification (or equivalent) and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience or working within the health and safety sector. You will have previous experience of identifying, monitoring and managing corporate health & safety/fire safety risk in a workplace setting and the ability to gather, analyse and report on relevant statistics. It is essential that you have a good working knowledge and an understanding of how to successfully implement, deliver and maintain health & safety/fire safety legislative requirements.
