Praxis Care held its first Service User Involvement Awards event at the Dunadry Hotel and Country Club on October 12th. The event was in recognition of the significant contributions made by service users over the last year in the design, delivery, and evaluation of Praxis Care’s services.
Nearly one hundred people attended the event, including service users, family members and staff from as far away as England and the Isle of Man, as well as from both the north and south of Ireland.
Thirty-seven different awards were presented in eight different categories. The categories included: The Local Participation Award, The Corporate Participation Award,
The Healthy Living Award, The Ambassador Award, The Fundraising Award, The Personal Achievement Award, and The Advocacy Award.
The event was opened by Nevin Ringland, Chief Executive of Praxis Care, and the guest speaker was Ken Brundle, Chair of the Board of Praxis Care. The awards were then presented by both Nevin and Ken. Before lunch a group of service users from the Bocombra Workskills project entertained everyone present with a song and a short comedy sketch.
